Lunchable: Please Don't EAT the Bugs (Just Look)

Blogs
Dragon Robe
Dragon robe, China, late 19th century, 100 percent silk with tapestry motifs. Gift of Susan Schwartz, JoAnn C. Stabb Design Collection, °ÅÀÖÊÓƵ.

The °ÅÀÖÊÓƵ Design Museum just released a video on its latest exhibition, on view through April: It’s Bugged: Insects’ Role in Design â€” exploring the relationship between people and insects.

I wrote about it in greater detail in this blog post in December.

Catch this video for a sneak peek that will make those of you at the °ÅÀÖÊÓƵ campus itch to walk over there on your next lunch break to see the many ways people use and display bugs. The museum opens at noon each work/school day and closes at 4 p.m. More information and directions .

This video was produced by fourth-year Cinema and Digital Media major Autumn Ward.

Thanks to Michael French in College of Letters and Science for letting us have this video for the arts blog.

MORE MEDIA on the exhibition: Catch an interview with the museum's director, Tim McNeil, on Capital Public Radio's "" program. And look at this Good Sacramento story.

Speaking of bugs

Biodiversity Museum Day is Saturday, Feb. 17 in the Sacramento region. Get a guide to the museums that are open, including at °ÅÀÖÊÓƵ, here.

"Lunchable" is a regular feature of the °ÅÀÖÊÓƵ Arts Blog, bringing you field trips you can enjoy during a lunch break. Please ping me at kmnikos@ucdavis.edu if you know of other "lunchable" art scenes in the region.
