The mule deer intarsia is done! An equipment problem in the Craft Center's woodshop had delayed the project, the centerpiece of the exhibition Odocoileus hemionus in the .

Catherine Yasuda, student manager of the woodshop, created the mule deer intarsia, a mosaiclike work of pieces of wood that appear to be inlaid, but in fact fit together like a jigsaw puzzle. Yasuda's exhibition also features hand-shaped, mule deer hoofprints from more than 150 species of wood.

The exhibition had been scheduled to close Oct. 30, but has been extended through but has been extended through the weekend (Oct. 31 and Nov. 1), to give people more time to see the centerpiece. The Craft Center and gallery are in the South Silo. Hours: 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday, and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday-Sunday.

B HERE — Part of a campaign to raise awareness of hepatitis B. The one-day art exhibit (10 a.m.-5 p.m. Oct. 27 in Freeborn Hall) is being held in conjunction with a performance event, also titled B HERE, featuring Happy Slip, David Choi, AJ Rafael, Michelle Martinez, KABA Modern, Paul Dateh, Jessica Sanchez and KevJumba. The B HERE events are sponsored by Gilead Sciences with support from campus partners: the Asian American Association, Pi Alpha Phi and the Vietnamese Student Association. The performance event is scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. in Freeborn Hall. Free tickets will be given to anyone who visits the related art exhibit on Oct. 27l.
