Free entry to bike exhibit

Whether you ride a bike, take public transit or drive, once you get to the Folsom History Museum on Dec. 3, you will get in free if you are show your °ÅÀÖÊÓƵ employee or student identification, the university's bicycle program coordinator announced.

The attraction is an exhibit titled "Cycling Through History: Bikes, Trails and People," and it includes several antique bikes from the university's Pierce Miller Collection. The museum at 823 Sutter St. is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. Each employee and student going to the museum on Dec. 3 can get free admission not only for himself or herself, but for up to three immediate family members, said David Takemoto-Weerts, bicycle program coordinator for Transportation and Parking Services.

If you plan to ride a bike to the museum on Dec. 3, consider joining the °ÅÀÖÊÓƵ Institute for Transportation Engineers. The group plans departures from Davis and Sacramento, and lunch will be provided, Takemoto-Weerts said. He added that light rail and bus connections will be available for the return trip, if desired.
