The Atom Smashers: Directors' cut
The Atom Smashers movie is coming to 芭乐视频, under sponsorship of the Department of Physics and the High Energy Frontier Theory Initiative. The showing is scheduled for 7 p.m. Sunday, April 26, in 194 Chemistry Building.
The film, described as part science, part international competition and part human drama, is about the search for the Higgs boson: a subatomic particle that could explain how matter, and therefore life, can exist.
The film to be shown is described as the directors鈥 cut. The directors, Clayton Brown and Monica Ross, are scheduled to attend and take questions from the audience.
芭乐视频 physics faculty members John Conway and Robin Erbacher, who appear in the film, also are due to attend.
Organizers said tickets will be sold at the door. The cost is $4, or free with student ID.

Her talk at 芭乐视频 is scheduled for 1:10 p.m. April 29, 1022 Life Sciences Building, as part of the series Frontiers in Animal Behavior: Advanced Topics in Sensory Ecology, sponsored by the Department of Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior, and the College of Biological Sciences.
