��Ƶ 2nd for Social Mobility Among National Public Universities

The ��Ƶ, Davis, is distinguished among public universities for the upward social mobility it offers graduates, according to Washington Monthly’s annual assessment of U.S. schools based on what they do for the public good.

Washington Monthly’s annual college rankings, published online today (Sept. 1), ranked ��Ƶ second only to Utah State University among national public universities for social mobility. Among both public and private universities, it was 11th.

The ��Ƶ, Davis, ranks second among “Affordable Elite Colleges” in Washington Monthly’s annual assessment of U.S. schools based on what they do for the public good.

Washington Monthly’s annual college rankings, published online and in the magazine’s September-October issue, also place ��Ƶ 11th among all public and private universities in the nation, third among all public universities, and third among all public and private universities in California.

Once again, the ��Ƶ, Davis, has been recognized among the top universities in the nation by Washington Monthly magazine in its September/October issue, clocking in at No. 10 among the 316 public and private universities ranked.

��Ƶ Betters Top-10 Ranking for ‘Public Good’

��Ƶ has bettered last year’s top-10 ranking by Washington Monthly magazine for contributions to the “public good.”

The campus moved from 10th to ninth spot overall among 303 public and private national universities in the 2017 rankings released today. It was ranked eighth in the criterion for promoting social mobility.

��Ƶ Sustains Its ‘Cool School’ Ranking

��Ƶ repeats this year as a top-10 “Cool School” in Sierra magazine’s ranking of America’s greenest colleges and universities. The environmental magazine published its 10th annual “Cool Schools” report online today (Sept. 6).

Out of a record 201 schools in this year’s rankings, ��Ƶ came in at No. 8 — marking the fifth time ��Ƶ has made the top 10 in the last six years.

‘Washington Monthly’ Puts ��Ƶ in Top 10 for Public Service

Washington Monthly magazine today (Aug. 29) recognized ��Ƶ as a top-10 national university based on contributions to the “public good.” The magazine defines the “public good” as social mobility (recruiting and graduating low-income students), research (producing cutting-edge scholarship and Ph.D.s) and service (encouraging students to give something back to their country).
