Campus Store Reopens, CoHo Closes for Summer

The Coffee House is shutting down for the summer as two ��Ƶ Stores locations reopen this week.

The Campus Store and Downtown Store are open with limited hours and increased sanitation practices, according to the the ��Ƶ Stores website. The locations have implemented physical distancing through the use of separate entrances and exits, limited capacity and other measures. Yolo County regulations require all staff and customers to wear face coverings while inside the stores.

CoHo Alum Takes Another Crack at ‘Top Chef’

“Chef Joe” is back! Tune in this Thursday (March 19) to cheer on ��Ƶ alumnus Joe Sasto ’10 as he competes in the 17th season of Top Chef.

In a phone interview with Dateline ��Ƶ, Sasto shared his enthusiasm for the upcoming “all-star” season, which brings back 15 former winners, fan-favorites and frontrunners. “Everybody’s incredibly talented,” he said. “It will make for a great competition.”

When Student Health and Counseling Services set out to promote the new crisis text line available to campus, they turned to their target audience: students.

The campus department commissioned a student filmmaker to create the above video, which is intended to raise the profile of the new, free resource.

The ASUCD Coffee House, 50 years old this year, throws itself a four-day anniversary party next week, May 14-17, with staff members wearing the styles of decades past and playing the music of those eras — all the while serving up the home cooking that ��Ƶ has loved since 1968.

Coffee House Veteran Goes for ‘Top Chef’ Title

“People always ask restaurant people where they got their start, and I say, ‘The Coffee House,’ and they don’t get it,” Sasto said in a phone interview with Dateline ��Ƶ today (Feb. 27). “It’s one of those things that’s so hard to describe unless you’ve been there.”
