Campus Police Arrest 3 for Vandalism

��Ƶ police arrested three individuals for vandalism early Friday morning, after several buildings and other structures on campus were tagged with graffiti.

At around 1:40 a.m., officers responded to a call about graffiti on two of the Egghead sculptures near Mrak Hall, and observed three individuals spray-painting other Eggheads near the Art Building. After a foot chase, officers detained all three individuals and recovered spray paint cans and other evidence of vandalism.

��Ƶ police are working collaboratively with city of Davis police following a second fatal stabbing in the city. Campus police are providing all available resources to join the search for the suspect and-or suspects and provide extra patrols in the city and on campus.

The university shares in concerns over safety in our community and urges students and residents to be aware of their surroundings and call campus or city police should they have any information to help solve these crimes.

Statement on Arrest of Assistant Coach

Daniel Noble, an assistant coach for ��Ƶ Men’s Water Polo, was arrested Thursday, May 19, by agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). He is expected to be arraigned Friday, May 20, in federal court in Sacramento on charges related to child pornography.

Upon learning of his arrest yesterday, ��Ƶ immediately placed Noble on administrative leave. (As of Friday, May 20 he is no longer a ��Ƶ employee.) He has been ordered to stay away from campus. If he returns to campus, he will be arrested.

Carjacking Suspects Investigated

��Ƶ police in collaboration with the Woodland Police Department are investigating two suspects in a carjacking that took place on campus March 15. The suspects, both juveniles, have been arrested on other charges but have not yet been charged in the ��Ƶ case.
